Manual install

Each release on the Releases page has .deb and .rpm packages, Linux and macOS archives, install.sh, checksums.txt and its Sigstore signature. Downloads need no GitHub account.

Set VERSION to the release you want. After installing a package, run sudo deaconguard setup server or sudo deaconguard setup agent.

Debian and Ubuntu​

The archive contains only the binary; there are no services. Use local mode, or run the server in the foreground.

macOS builds are not yet signed by Apple. If macOS blocks the first run, allow it with xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /usr/local/bin/deaconguard.

From source​

Requires Go 1.26 or later and, for the web UI, Node.js 24 with npm.
